I am part of the  civilisation of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (Earth Family), the Earth as One Family.

We live and practise the philosophy of Earth Democracy  with no separations between nature and humans and no hierarchies between species, culture, gender, race and faiths.

The world stands at a precipice of ecological collapse. Climate change is threatening our very existence. We are pushing 200 species to extinction every day and in the process threatening our own species with extinction.

We have inherited an ecological civilisation free of the anthropocentric bias of humans as superior to other species. I commit myself to think and live with consciousness of avoiding harm to other species in every act of my daily life.

We are part of the Earth. The food is the web of life. What we eat and how it was grown has major impact on the planet and society. Chemical food and agriculture is responsible for 75% of the damage to planetary health and 75% damage to human health. Through my daily bread I will bring respect, gratitude and justice to our annadata’s and make annadata sukhi bhave a reality. Through conscious eating I will heal my body and the Planet.

Nonsustainable systems of production and consumption are undermining nature, which is the basis of our economy and our lives. India has slipped to 177th out of 180 countries in the Environment Index. This is an indicator of a betrayal of our ecological civilisation . In my mind and through my actions I pledge to rejuvenate Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
